Appearance[]
Alex has sweeping black hair and electric blue eyes. He is often seen wearing a high-collared black and white jacket, a white shirt with black pants. The rest of his outfit is black, including his shoes, fingerless gloves, and a tag around his neck. He also wears black studs and a black diamond earring, his Vested Item, on his right ear. He also frequently carries a red Staff, his choice weapon for harnessing his powers.
Personality[]
As a seasoned player in Zero Game, Alex is very strategic and willing to take risks in order to pass levels. He is intelligent and brave, though easily outwitted by his brother, Elliot Baek. He is generally polite and aloof to strangers, preferring not to get attached. Estranged from his brother and betrayed by many in the past, Alex finds it difficult to trust others. Though he grew to trust Hanna in their partnership, he still finds it difficult to open up to her. He cares deeply for her and values their friendship. Inspired by her optimistic and idealistic approach in Zero Game, Alex adopts her values and chooses to show kindness to others even at his own expense. He refuses to take advantage of others without probable cause and believes in doing the right thing. Though he is able to eliminate enemies, he suffers from persistent nightmares and PTSD (Post Traumatic Stress Disorder) after killing them.[2] After dying in the outside world, he intends on making his second life in Zero Game more meaningful as a human.
Background[]
Alex drowned in the outside world when he was 8 years old, leaving Elliot behind. He and Elliot fell in a river, and Loveme and Mr. X tried to save them. Later, the bodies of Loveme, Mr. X, and Alex were found. Alex told Hanna that he finds it difficult to open up and trust others, because he was betrayed by many in the past.[3] After entering Zero Game, Alex and Elliot were saved by Jay and recruited into Blue Moon.[4] Three months prior to the current timeline, Alex accumulated 120,000 LP and was ranked first among the players.[5] For unknown reasons, Elliot pair-switched with Alex and annihilated the Blue Moon guild, framing Alex. Alex's 100,000 LP was then turned into a vested item[4] and hidden inside his earring.[6]
Powers and Abilities[]
Natural Recovery[]
When Alex first entered the game, he was given the passive skill of Natural Recovery. Once every 24 hours, he can heal himself from any sustained physical injuries. It does not recover his stamina or damage intake.[7]
Electronic Master[]
This is a highly versatile ability that allows its user to manipulate electricity. Its wielder can use water to conduct high voltage electric shocks or friction to scale walls.[8] Long or short range beams of electricity can be used as projectiles or to form walls to shield oncoming attacks. Alex harnesses his ability with his Staff.[9]
Staff[]
Alex's staff is identical to Elliot's, except that it is red. Alex uses this as a medium to harness his Electronic Master ability and a weapon in close combat.
